I took a short stroll this morning while Rai was visiting the dentist. Ettalong Beach has a nice easy walk along the bay side and there’s a great restaurant/cafe along the way for those in need of a caffeine fix to keep their spirits up.
It’s only a short walk, probably one and a half kilometres end to end but it is beautifully maintained by the local council and is very popular with families for picnics.
The foreshore was redeveloped a few years ago to make it more useable and it has transformed the area considerably. Wide level footpaths and plenty of rest areas along the way. Some great spots to sit and look out toward Lion Island, West Head and over to Palm Beach.
The council has also installed some very modern looking excersise stations along the way. I saw a few healthy joggers stop to do leg presses and use the steps while I walked by.
One station in particular seemed very appealing to one young toddler who seemed to prefer it to the adjoining play area.
Much better than a visit to the dentist. Sorry Rai.
